The Estérel massif: Between the Mediterranean and limestone Provence, the Estérel is a volcanic massif of 32,000 hectares, of which 14,000 are classified. Its astonishing red color is linked to rhyolite, or red porphyry, volcanic rock from the primary era. Circuits have been set up for mountain biking, for riders and for hikers.
Respect for the environment: For the prevention of fires, any introduction of fire into the forest is prohibited all year round. The ONF: A public industrial and commercial establishment created in 1964, the National Forestry Office carries out its action within the framework of a multi-year contract of objectives and performance with the State and the national federation of forest municipalities. It ensures the sustainable management of French public forests, i.e. nearly 10 Mha of forests and wooded areas in mainland France and in the overseas departments.
