Small town of Haute-Loire, in region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Saint-Pierre-Eynac takes place about fifteen kilometers from the city of Puy-en-Velay. It is located near Saint-Julien-Chapteuil, Montusclat and Bessamorel.

Occupied territory for many centuries, as evidenced by the various tools found in the cave dwellings nearby Saint-Pierre-Eynac was mainly developed in the Middle Ages under the yoke of the Velay lords. Long mainly turned to agriculture and livestock, the village is open to tourism, with an exceptional architectural heritage.

In nature, in a preserved and authentic, the town also appeals to fans living outdoors and outdoor recreation, including offering many hiking trails accessible to admire the local fauna and flora nearby chain Puys.

Things to see and do

Listed building, St Peter's Church is one of the oldest Meygal and dates from the second half of the eleventh century. The present building dates from the twelfth century, however, with some modifications in the thirteenth and fifteenth. Mainly Romanesque style, it reveals in its interior a side chapel housing the body of Father Perbet, a refractory priest executed in the French Revolution and attributed many miraculous healings.

Based on a rock overlooking the village, the statue of Our Lady of Mercies in 1864. The latter is still subject today an annual pilgrimage on Sunday August 15. According to local legend, it is indeed always appreciated by mothers whose children are slow to walk because it would have miraculous healing powers.

Walking through the village, you can admire the charms of the castle of Bonneville classified historic monument and still inhabited.

Events and festivities

In May there is the festival Godivouac located on the banks of the Sumène. The program, a market of local products and live music.

In July, up to the annual festival with its petanque competitions, games for children, musical entertainment or the fireworks.

A Christmas market is proposed in December.
