Rhone commune, vast 3000 hectares, Saint-Pierre-de-Chandieu takes place at the edge of the department of Isere, about thirty kilometers from Lyon. Second commune of the area in area, it is located near Saint-Priest, Corbas or Bonnefamille.
Saint-Pierre-de-Chandieu takes its name in the second half of the 10th century when the abbey of Saint-Maïeul was founded.
