- A little history:
- Saint Nicolas was founded in 1608 on the will of Nicolas Boucherat second, Abbot of Citeaux, by 23 families from Lorraine, Alsace and the Ardennes.
- Most of the activities has long been logging and cultivation of land cleared, become grain fields and livestock, on behalf of the Cistercian monks.
- Ponds and reservoirs are vast forest of Citeaux, with its famous abbey and barns scattered remnants of a history of labor and domestication of the natural elements.
