Saint-Michel-en-Brenne

The abbey of Saint-Cyran-en-Brenne, also known as Abbey Saint-Michel-en-Brenne since the mid-1970s, is surely the most important attractions of the village. At the origin of this monument Catholic, a monastery founded by Saint Cyran the early seventeenth century through the gift of Dagobert. Abbey became royal foundation, it was partially destroyed in the early eighteenth century. Holiday house, then raising site, the site is now the parent Sisters of Saint Pius X.

Built in the fifteenth century, the Saint-Michel deserves attention a few moments to admire the architecture.

Major tourist area, nature reserve Chérine was created in the mid 1980s Ideal for walks and other excursions, the site allows us to appreciate the local fauna and flora.

A feast of steak with entertainment and tastings are held every year on the second Sunday of July. The event is accompanied by a flea market.
