Municipality of Gironde, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans takes place only about twenty kilometers from the very touristy city of Bordeaux. It is located on the Saucats, not far from Martillac, Ayguemorte-les-Graves or Saint-Morillon.
Populated since Antiquity, as evidenced by the polished marble sarcophagi discovered on site and today exhibited at the Louvre Museum, the territory of Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans has long turned towards agriculture and breeding, notably experiencing a significant wine-growing activity. From this prosperous period, the town has retained several large 18th century estates which are still visible today.
