Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans

While strolling in the commune, you will be able to discover several old wine-growing residences as well as castles of the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries. Do not miss in particular to admire the exteriors of Basse-Terre, of the castle of Catiroy built on the model of the Louis XVI charterhouses, but also the castle of Eyrans rebuilt in the 17th century on the remains of a medieval building, the castle of La Prade, a magnificent neo-classical building with its triangular pediment, the Château Lamothe located on the site of an old Gallo-Roman villa, the domain of Larchey or the domain of Lartigue, a former hunting rendezvous.

Several mission or crossroads are also visible everywhere in the town. Erected by Abbot Bonnin, they all date from the second half of the 19th century.

Being part of natural sites of great heritage value and for some classified Natura 2000, the town also offers several very pleasant marked hiking trails.

The weekly market takes place every Sunday morning. A Christmas market with festive entertainment is also offered at the end of the year.

Concerts take place in June on the occasion of the Fête de la Musique.

In mid-July, the town organizes a sardine and fireworks to celebrate the national holiday.

At the end of August, it's time for the back-to-school party and its festivities.

In October, let yourself be seduced by the workshops, activities and festivities of the E = Eurêka science festival.
