The National Hospital (14 rue du Val Osne)
At Imperial Asylum origin of Vincennes, it is created by decree of Napoleon III in 1855 and was built by Eugène Laval. In a sober architecture, it represents the will to build a welcoming structure that evokes neither a hospital nor a prison.
The Charenton (corner of Mauritius Gredat and Maréchal Leclerc)
Although located Saint-Maurice, it is known as asylum or House of Charenton. It is founded in 1641. In 1825, the arrival of Esquirol Surgeon enables an innovative approach to care focuses on healing. During the first half of the nineteenth century, a new architecture is finalized by Emile Gilbert and is an open and airy space. Note the Greek temple-style chapel below the statue of Dr. Esquirol opened in 1862. Mother House was founded in 1920 and became a maternity in 1958, which then will install in the premises of the National Hospital.
Since 1 January 2011, the two hospitals form a single administrative entity: Saint-Maurice Hospitals them.
