Saint-Martin-des-Tilleuls

Saint-Martin-des-Tilleuls is a small rural town in the north-east of Vendée. To 20 km of Cholet, 60 km of Nantes, 85 km of Angers and 20 km of the park of Puy-du-Fou. During the Revolution, the town, then named Saint-Martin-Lars, bears the name of Lars-la-Valeur. The town changed its name from Saint-Martin-Lars to that of Saint-Martin-Lars-en-Tiffauges, certainly to distinguish it from another Saint-Martin-Lars which became Saint-Martin-Lars-en-Sainte -Ermine. In 1931, the municipality is chosen a shorter name, Saint-Martin-des-Tilleuls.
