In the extreme south-eastern department, near the southern Drôme and Vaucluse High, Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche with its surroundings belongs to the Mediterranean world. A region dominated by vineyards (Côtes du Rhône southern) and the olive-backed to large areas of scrubland first pierced by the gorges of Ardeche.
The former fishing hamlet-dependent Aiguèze boatmen, the borders of the Duchy of Uzès and Vivarais County, has become a regional tourist center (front of hotel establishment "Art Deco" of the 30s).

Since early 2012, St. Martin is part of the "Country of Art and History Vivarais southern" (with the intermunicipal Mountains Coiron and Rhone and Ardèche Gorges).
