Also known as Saint-Martin-lès-Boulogne, Saint-Martin-Boulogne is a commune in Pas-de-Calais region located in Hauts-de-France. It takes place not far from Boulogne-sur-Mer and Outreau. Near the Channel coast, the city is part of the territory of Boulogne.

The history of the town is closely linked to that of Boulogne-sur-Mer and is named after a former city parish. It has also benefited from its expansion in the nineteenth century, becoming one of the most important cities of the metropolitan area. Long mecca of entertainment the Boulogne bourgeoisie Saint-Martin-Boulogne suffered widespread destruction during World War II and was almost entirely rebuilt. There are still some beautiful monuments to discover in this city turned towards modernity and culture.

Things to see and do

Hil former stronghold of the castle Denacre was listed historic monument for its facades and roofs, the dining room, the decor of the lounge and office on the ground floor, as well as the oratory located at 'floor.

There are some beautiful old farms, as farm Bedouâtre located on the old castle. The facades and roofs were listed historical monument. You can still see the old moat and a stone bridge. Not far away, the farm of Moulin l'Abbé reveals an old also registered baronial hall.

The Church of St. Martin, formerly located at the foot of the ramparts of Boulogne-sur-Mer, was built around the sixth century before being destroyed during the English siege of the sixteenth century. Rebuilt soon after, before experiencing a new aspect to the nineteenth century, the current church dates from the middle of this time, and unveils an elegant Gothic style. It was built on the model of a church in Chelsea, a neighborhood in London. Its bell, which dates from 1776, was classified as an historic monument. Inside, one can in particular admire a beautiful carved panel of the eighteenth century, a Christ in polychrome wood of the nineteenth century, beautiful stained glass, as well as stalls of the late nineteenth century.

The Indian cemetery Meerut demonstrates the commitment of the troops of the British Empire during the First World War. The site includes almost 300 graves of Indian military and thirty Egyptian military graves. Strolling, a large column replacing the usual cross is discovered, irises, or a few cypresses, sacred plants in India.

The castle of Caucherie still reveals an interesting French garden performed on plans by Le Nôtre.

The market is held every Thursday morning.

Of ducasses, fairgrounds, are held between April and May and between May and June, in different districts of the city.

In October, the Dép'Art Point festival offers exhibitions, events and meetings with artists.

A flea market is usually organized around November 11.
