Things to see and do

Passing through Saint-Marcel, don't miss admiring the ruins of the Saint-Jacques castle. Built on Roc Pupim, this 12th century building was almost completely destroyed at the beginning of the 17th century. It was formerly used to defend the road between Moûtiers and the upper part of the valley.

The Perugia manor, a former 13th century fortified house, is also one of the architectural attractions of Saint-Marcel. It is presented as a tall quadrangular dwelling with a two-story tower house.

Before taking one of the marked hiking trails around, head for the neo-Gothic chapel from the end of the 19th century dedicated to Saint Jacques de Tarentaise. It was built with stones from Château Saint-Jacques on Roc Pupim.
