The village of Saint-Léger-de-Peyre takes place in the department of Lozere at the heart of the Massif Central, near the Aubrac mountains.

Things to see and do

Best known for its natural surroundings, the village of Saint-Léger-de-Peyre also knows some beautiful buildings, like the viaduct Crueize. This comes on the route of the railway line Béziers-Neussargues, and was built in the late nineteenth century. It takes place in a once very wild place, the throat of Hell.

Once bustling with the wool industry, the village of Saint-Léger-de-Peyre still allows today to admire the remains of mills clothiers and authentic old stone houses.

The Hell Valley has a nice set of gorges through which the Crueize. Despite its steep roads, the site is popular with walkers and lovers of outdoor sports. One can also discover the Gevaudan wolf park installed in the municipality of Saint Lucia.

In July, the village offers its celebration of the transition with associative stands or barter spaces of all kinds.

The votive festival Saint-Léger-de-Peyre is held every year in July, the program with a ball, a lively aperitif, petanque contest or a raffle, food and other festive activities.
