Saint-Julien-du-Verdon is a small village in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, bordering Castellane and Angles. Installed on the side of a hill, facing south, it is located in an amphitheater of mountains where the pines and oaks mingle. Things to see and do

The wealth of Saint-Julien-du-Verdon is its incredible natural heritage that allows us to appreciate flora and exceptional fauna. The village also has some beautiful monuments of great interest.

Built in the early eighteenth century, the church of Our Lady of the Assumption is a former priory belonging to the abbey of Lérins. Inside, one can in particular admire an altar from 1660, and several objects classified historic monument like a painting of André Jean dating from 1665 and a painting from 1660 depicting the Coronation of the Virgin. Built on the heights of the village in 1862, another church dedicated to St. Roch and St. Julien, offers a beautiful view of the region.

Many hiking trails are available all around the village, to enjoy unique views over Lake Castillon the Verdon. Hiking on marked theme also can admire the geological riches of Saint-Julien-du-Verdon the heart of the forest. On the lake, it is possible to practice different outdoor activities such as paragliding, or other water sports. Not far away, the thrill seekers can practice water sports in the Verdon Gorge located near the village of Saint-Julien.
