Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts is a rural municipality in Catalan country, located at the end of the plain of Roussillon and at the beginning of the Vallespir valley, near the cities of Boulou and Amélie-les-Bains known for their spas.
Former wine-growing commune, there are still some properties that make a quality local wine.
Many properties have disappeared to give way to housing estates where mostly retired people come from all regions of France and Europe for the mild climate, the natural setting, and the tranquility of the place.
Currently Saint-Jean seems to turn its future towards tourism.
