Located in the heart of the Center-Val de Loire, in the Cher department, Saint-Florent-sur-Cher is one of the municipalities covered by the hiking trail of Champagne country Berry. It takes place about twenty kilometers from Bourges, not far from Civray and Villeneuve-sur-Cher.
Formerly a Gallo-Roman village, the municipality of Saint-Florent-sur-Cher developed between the 11th and 13th centuries, becoming a seigniory of great importance in the region. But it was in the nineteenth century, with the construction of a viaduct and the arrival of a railroad, that the city took off, adopting the aspect it still has today to its visitors.
Full of charm, this old mining and industrial city still reveals a charming architectural heritage testifying to a rich and long history.
