Village of Haute-Savoie, Saint-Eustache is located not far from Lake Annecy, between the ridges of Roc des Bœufs and Semnoz. It is located in the heart of the Bauges Massif Regional Natural Park, near La Chapelle-Saint-Maurice, Sévrier and Bellecombes-en-Bauges.
It was in the medieval period that the village was formed, even if older human traces have been discovered. It developed around a building of which today only a simple tower remains. Due to its strategic geographical location, the commune of Saint-Eustache served as a place of control and surveillance on the Leschaux pass. But it was during the Second World War that it sadly became famous. Recognized as a martyr village, it saw the deportation of around thirty of its inhabitants following the death of three German soldiers.
It is now for its tourist activities and its gastronomy that this Savoyard city is known. It is notably a place for selling local products such as Reblochon, Tomme, Savoie Gruyère and honey.
