New municipality of Creuse created in 2019, Saint-Dizier-Masbaraud was born from the merger of Masbaraud-Mérignat and Saint-Dizier-Leyrenne. This small town of more than 1100 inhabitants takes place about thirty kilometers from Guéret, not far from Janaillat, Ceyroux or Augères.
Populated since prehistoric times, the territory of Saint-Dizier-Masbaraud is also known for having sheltered Hospital workers or for having seen the birth in 1936 of the famous cycling champion, Raymond Poulidor.
Today the town remains appreciated for its authentic charm and its proximity to some of the most beautiful tourist sites in the region.
