Located north of Haute-Marne, at the borders of Marne and Meuse, about ten kilometres from Der-Chantecoq Lake, Saint-Dizier is a former stronghold and industrial town which invites visitors to discover all its attractions. Walks around Jard and the ramparts, an old medieval castle converted into a sub-prefecture, an Art Nouveau tour of the town's cast iron ornaments (balconies, door panels etc.), taking in the works of architect Hector Guimard, and the municipal museum based in an old private mansion overlooking the pretty Square Winston Churchill, are some of the things to see along the way. The museum contains a variety of collections of fine art, cast iron ornaments, archaeology, ornithology and local history.

Fans of contemporary music should not miss the Musical'Été festival and its free outdoor concerts, which take place every year in late June/early July in Jard Park!

Saint-Dizier

Halfway between Paris and Strasbourg, Saint-Dizier is the largest city in the Haute-Marne. Open forests of Lac du Der en Champagne located within 10 km. It enjoys a microclimate that makes the sector more temperate region. With a population approaching 30 000, Saint-Dizier is the 5th largest city of Champagne-Ardenne. Things to see and do

Simple town near a stately home in the 9th century, Saint-Dizier became fortified in the 13th century, after its merger with the villages of La Noue (Olonna) and Gigny. The expansion of the metal has changed over the centuries, this former stronghold in industrial city. Recent renovations have made Saint-Dizier to the charm of cities in which to live. Each of the neighborhoods that comprise nevertheless maintained its own identity, which is reflected at the option of walking.
