- Located in the plain of Vaunage, just 12 km from Nimes, the village was born from the merger in 1812 of two cities: Saint-Come; Maruéjols.
- History:
- The first human occupation is attested in the Neolithic the territory of Saint-Côme-et-Maruéjols. Archaeological excavations conducted in recent decades have to update many artifacts from this period, now preserved at the Museum of Romanité in Nîmes.
- The villages of St. Cosmas and Maruéjols are also busy in antiquity. The Greek tower on the oppidum of Mauressip, is a perfect testimony of this period.
- In the Middle Ages, the villages had their own speakers: an encircled the church, another the castle tower and several family houses.
- In the sixteenth century, the majority of people adhere to the "Reformed Religion". This will cause many conflicts between Protestants and Catholics.
