Located on the banks of the Saône, in Ain, the castle of Saint-Bernard is known for having hosted some of the greatest painters of the early 20th century, such as Utrillon and Valadon. This former fortified castle, now classified as a Historic Monument, was erected at the end of the 13th century before being remodeled in the 17th century and then restored in the 19th century.
Originally owned by the Palatines of Riottiers, the castle of Saint-Bernard has passed from hand to hand over the centuries. Today, it takes the form of a rectangular enclosure flanked by two round corner towers. You can also admire a high house once crowned with a corbelled walkway. Located only thirty minutes from Lyon, the site is available for hire for different types of events. Three rooms, an interior garden and themed gardens are thus available for weddings, birthdays and other business seminars.
