The garden of the castle of Saint-Bernard, in the Ain, surrounds an old fortified castle from the end of the 13th century, completely restored in the 19th century. The building, in the form of a rectangular enclosure flanked by round towers, is now listed as a Historic Monument.
Voted garden of the year in 2013, the garden of the castle of Saint-Bernard owes its rebirth to its current owner. The site covers more than two hectares, revealing in particular a fruit garden, a vegetable garden and a rose garden. In spring, visitors will be seduced by its incredible expanses of daffodils that hatch by the thousands.
It's hard to resist the labyrinthine route that reveals twelve themed gardens including the white garden, the red garden, the green garden, the yellow garden, the witches garden, the cucurbit gardens and the berry garden.
