Former fortified house of Saint-Baudille-et-Pipet, in Isère, the castle of Montmeilleur stands proudly on a rocky peak. Former property of the Morges family throughout the Middle Ages, it still has corner towers with walls.
Originally built in the 11th century and enlarged in the 15th century, it was transformed into a pleasure chateau during the 19th century. Listed as a Historic Monument for its exterior walls and roofs, the Château de Montmeilleur was bought and rebuilt by a private individual who now opens the premises to the public. Visitors can discover 18th century furniture and decoration, enjoy the park or even rent the charming gîtes located on the property.
