Castle of Charuel

Monument in Sacey

Former fortress of the Dukes of Normandy, the Château de Charuel reveals its remains in the town of Sacey, in the Manche department. Built in the 11th century on a ridge overlooking the river, it originally served as a stronghold on the way to Brittany.

Built by the Duke of Normandy, Robert the Magnificent, the Château de Charuel today only shows the remains of the quadrangular enclosure.
