Abbey of Sablonceaux

Monument in Sablonceaux

Founded in the twelfth on land donated by William X, Duke of Aquitaine, the abbey has suffered wars and a century of religious wars. Successive restorations need to present Romanesque and Gothic parts.

Visitors will appreciate the granary and its centenary American walnut. The church and cloister are freely available (except during services).
