Charming village of Vaucluse, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Rustrel takes place about ten kilometers from Apt, between the Luberon and Vaucluse mountains. It is located among the vineyards and olive groves, near Gargas, Gignac and Saint-Christol.

Occupied since the Neolithic Age, the territory of Rustrel developed in Gallo-Roman and Middle Ages, thanks to its wine production, including the AOC Ventoux or extraction of ocher, a material that has earned his nickname of Colorado Provencal site. Today, the town continues to attract visitors with its rich landscapes as much as by its incredible architectural heritage that reflects a unique past. Its proximity to some of the most beautiful cities in the region also makes it an ideal place for people wanting to enjoy the beauty.

Things to see and do

Specializing in truffles, Rustrel town is also known for its important tourism enriched by its architectural heritage. While visiting the area, do not forget to admire the ancient castle of the seventeenth century, which now houses the town hall or the various religious buildings such as the Priory Saint-Julien, the Church of Our Lady of the Angels enlarged in the seventeenth century or the church of Saint-Romain sixteenth.

Between the washing and fountains, seduced by the oil mill of the eighteenth century. Open to the public, it produces particularly olive oil from Provence AOC.
