Things to see and do

Roye has a rich and interesting heritage that reflects the importance of the city over the centuries.

The religious heritage of the city of Roye is very interesting. Visitors enjoy the charm of Saint-Gilles church, a brick building of the fifteenth century which replaced the original church. Following severe damage during World War II, it was restored in the 1920s, while maintaining its hipped roof, architectural feature of Picardy. Not far away, the St. Peter's Church, partly in concrete, was rebuilt in 1930 after the First World War. Classified as an historic monument, it has a beautiful chorus of the sixteenth century. The city also has the Chapel of Our Lady of Peace, built in the sixteenth century at least.

Listed historical monument, the ramparts and the tower of St. Lawrence would date from the eleventh century. Remodeled in the fifteenth century, all of today is imposing remains.

Recreational area popular with locals Roye of the Demouy has about one hectare park open to the public. Composed of several islands accessible by bridges, it has a beautiful flora.

On the town, one can discover a particular German military cemetery that reflects the many disasters of the First World War. It is built as a true memorial to remember the Great War.
