Land of welcome, resort, but also gastronomy, this rural town, located on one of the highest hills of the Black Perigord, offers varied landscapes alternating agricultural hillsides, deep valleys and deep forests, like the forest Barade which Saw the birth of the legend of Jacquou Croquant.
With the linking of Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac to Rouffignac in 1973, the commune now has nearly 1,600 inhabitants.
In September 2015, the Regional Commission for Heritage and Sites awarded the Village the Architectural Heritage Label of the 20th century for the reconstruction of the martyr villages.
