The Pierre Corneille museum takes place in the playwright's birthplace, in Rouen, in Seine-Maritime. Located near the famous Place du Vieux-Marché, it was the birthplace of Corneille at the start of the 17th century.
Sold at the end of the 17th century, the house housed the French artist for more than fifty years, serving in particular as a place to write his famous Cid. Open to the public, the Pierre Corneille museum allows visitors to discover the reconstruction of his study with a very beautiful library and 17th century furniture. Visitors will also be able to enter the dining room, the bedroom or the entrance with its bronze with the effigy of Corneille.
Guided tours, educational workshops and other cultural events are regularly offered.
