Saint Paul church is located southeast of the center of Rouen at the foot of St. Catherine hill and near the Mathilde bridge over the Seine and the exchanger then converted.
The origin of the church dates back to the eleventh century during the implementation of a priory dedicated to St. Paul. She then served as a place of worship parish for the faithful of the suburb of Eauplet.
Destroyed during the English siege in 1418 and 1419, it was rebuilt and again devastated during the wars of religion in the sixteenth century. In 1618, the church is however relieved and even enlarged, and the subject from 1827 to 1829 new jobs that give it a neo-Romanesque style. Steeples were added in the 1890s while the original Romanesque apse is the sacristy.
The urbanization and road lead to the closure development work of the church in 2017. The monastic neighboring buildings have been converted to accommodate young workers'.
The site of the church, protected as historical monuments and the old priory at the foot of the hill can be a promenade near the banks of the Seine.
