The Chapel of Grandmont now also called "church of Saint Catherine" is located rue Henri-II Plantagenet to Rouen.
Its origin dates back to the second half of the twelfth century when Rouen is based in the Priory Notre-Dame-du-Parc (also known as the Priory of Grandmont) whose order is headquartered in Limousin. The chapel itself was built in the early thirteenth century.
Destroyed by Spanish troops in 1370, the priory was rebuilt quickly and a chapel dedicated to St. Catherine was added in 1472 on the north side of the church. The latter is however destroyed during the Wars of Religion.
A few years before the Revolution, the Order of Grandmont is suppressed by Pope Clement XIV. The monastery buildings were turned into barracks and the church becomes a powder warehouse, resulting in the removal openings are bricked up.
Not until the twentieth century that the church be restored and evening worship is restored. It is then listed on the Inventory. terracotta paving the twelfth unearthed during construction are now highlighted in the apse.
