House of the Johnnies

Monument in Roscoff

Housed in a traditional small farm, the house tells the story of Johnnies and Onion Roscoff. The Johnnies (Little John) are the Onion merchants who, from the mid-nineteenth century, leaving Roscoff in the summer to sell their wares in the UK. Photographs, video films, the museum uses modern tools to tell this story. Alive and lively, the trail also addresses aspects of the production of onion Roscoff which obtained the AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée) in 2009 and the PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) in 2013.
