Bernicourt Castle was built in the early 18th century (1743) in this form on an area of 25 hectares.
The old church was dedicated to Roost Saint Martin. It was situated in the main street of Roost, west of Castle Bernicourt. It was demolished and its location is what the old cemetery is now called. A new church was built in 1830 near the entrance to the Avenue Bernicourt.
