Romagny-sous-Rougemont is a small friendly village at the foot of the Vosges.
In the Middle Ages, this town was called "Welschennest" (German name that meant burning village). She took the French name "Rommaingny" in 1692. She was a member of the County of Montbéliard-Ferrette and the Lordship of Rougemont, it was attached to the cantons of Masevaux then and now Fontaine Rougemont-le-Château.
