It is in 1115 that everything begins for Roissy-en-Brie. Legend has it that in wanting to help a young lady attacked by a wild boar, a peasant from Roissy-en-Brie and Torcy obtained 150 ha of wood for the reward of the Senechal Anseau of Garlande. Invaluable wealth at the time, wood still represents 50% of the territory of the commune. Over the centuries, the village thrived thanks to agriculture. In the 17th century, its fame grew with the construction of a splendid castle. Its beauty then attracts people known as Charles Pathé or even Dr. Panas. The small town remained modest until 1970 then suddenly experienced a major boom. The fields of cultivation give way to residences, but the wood resists and continues to occupy a large part of the territory.
