Green holiday resort nestled in the heart of the Vosges, Grand Est region, Rochesson takes place in the Bouchot Valley, in the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges. It is located about ten kilometers from Gerardmer, not far from La Bresse and Xonrupt-Longemer.

Common already existing in the fourteenth century, Rochesson experienced a major flood in the early sixteenth century that devastated all homes. This small mountain village, turned to agriculture, has gradually refocused on its tourism, but also sports, offering visitors ski slopes and other winter and summer recreation.

Lovers of old stones will also be able to discover ancient monuments on the village, testifying to the history of the city, and enjoy a pleasant and charming atmosphere.

Things to see and do

The Truches resort, located on the slopes of the Ubac, offers visitors a downhill slope and several cross-country ski trails. It is one of the smallest resorts in France with its unique downhill ski run extending over 210 meters. It is also possible to learn to snowshoe with several trails. It is connected to the Gérardmer ski area.

While strolling in the village, you will be able to discover the Saint-Blaise church and its Gothic choir. It reveals a nave from the first half of the 18th century, as well as a barley from the 20th century.

The natural heritage of Rochesson does not lack charm with the Roche des Ducs, classified site culminating at 855 meters above sea level, the bog of Jemnaufaing, the pond of Pre Thia at 940 meters above sea level, or the cascade of Battion. The latter consists of several small successive cascades. Several marked hiking trails of different difficulties to discover this fauna and flora of exception.
