Small village of Ariège located between Foix and Saint-Girons, Rimont extends from the edges of the Plantaurel massif to the Pyrenean piedmont. Member of the Ariège Pyrenees Regional Nature Park, he is also part of the community of communes Couserans - Pyrenees.
Of Gallo-Roman origin, the town is an old bastide founded in the second half of the 13th century by the brothers of Combelongue abbey. It suffered particularly from the horrors of the Second World War, in the middle of the twentieth century, especially during the German attack of August 1944, which earned him the status of village martyr.
Always so charming, the village of Rimont still presents today to its visitors an important architectural and cultural heritage that takes place in the heart of a preserved and authentic nature.
