Rezé, the third city of Nantes with about 40,000 inhabitants, is located south of Nantes which it is separated by the Loire. It is bordered to the west by the valley that separates Jaguère Bouguenais and east by the valley of the Sevre that defines the boundary with Nantes Vertou.
Rezé developed on the site of the Gallo-Roman city of Ratiatum, great port of antiquity, which had its heyday in the early centuries of our era. Important excavations are conducted regularly every year around the chapel Saint-Lupien. The latter dates from the 15th century.
Hikers will find several routes to Rezé nature in the city. The complete tour of the town is about 25 km. A surprising secret city, with ancient villages alongside contemporary architectural signatures.
Numerous sporting, cultural and festive events punctuate the year.
