Commune of Tarn installed between Castres and Albi, Réalmont takes place in Occitan region. It is dominated by the peak of Caylou and is located near Mondragon, Vénès or Peyregoux.
Former royal bastide, Réalmont was created in 1272 under Philip the Bold by Guillaume de Cohardon. Formerly the territory of Bernard de Boissezon, then lord of the Albigensian who was dispossessed for heresy, it quickly became the seat of the defense of the Catholic faith. At the end of the 1620s, however, the city was ravaged during the third Huguenot rebellion by the Prince de Condé.
Always very pleasant, the city of Réalmont continues to attract visitors thanks to the charm of its architecture and its vestiges of the big hours.
