This castle was built on a rock held in antiquity.

This is the eleventh century that the lordship of Rauzan with a knight named Bernard Rauzan. The castle, built at the request of the English king John Lackland, is mentioned for the first time at the beginning of the thirteenth century. Henry III says about 1225 in the Old Rudel, Lord of Bergerac, Gensac and Pujols. Several families of lords, you discover during the visit, will succeed as head of the castle for many centuries.
