Small coastal village of the Manche, in the Normandy region, Quinéville takes place on the shores of the Channel Sea, about sixty kilometers from Saint-Lô. It is located not far from Montebourg, Lestre or Saint-Marcouf.
Occupied since Antiquity, the territory of Quinéville has quietly developed over the centuries, mainly around agriculture and fishing. After having distinguished itself during the Battle of La Hougue by welcoming in particular Jacques II, King of England, the town was heavily affected by the Second World War, and more particularly by the Landing which took place a few kilometers away on Utah Beach. While heavily bombed, the one which today benefits from the Tourist Municipality label, has nonetheless preserved a large part of its architectural and historical heritage.
