Located in the heart of the Ariège, on a rocky peak, the castle of Quérigut is a former medieval castle mentioned in the history books from the thirteenth century. Many times besieged between the fifteenth and the end of the seventeenth century by the Spaniards, it is occupied by a garrison of Louis XIII in the early seventeenth century.

Burned again in 1676, the castle of Quérigut is restored under the orders of Louis XIV. Today in ruins, it now only reveals a massive tower in ruins that used to be a dungeon.
