Pujols-sur-Ciron is a small quiet and peaceful village, situated on the Ciron. Its surface is 753 hectares. The vineyard is part of the name "Graves".
Formerly Pujols-sur-Ciron was known throughout the region for its market asparagus.
We can not talk about Pujols not to mention the Ciron, this river so precious that was formerly in the Landes pine float until the 30s and the activity of mills (the appearance of watermills rejoiced people because it facilitated his task and freed a portion of his work). Today Ciron is especially revered because it is a key player to obtain the sweet wines of Sauternes-Barsac.
The Ciron has its source Lubbon, Canton Gabaret, Landes. He enters the Gironde Lartigue, Canton Captieux and sprinkles of Bazadais many municipalities before emptying into the Garonne between Preignac and Barsac.
Two ancient roads, one from Bordeaux to Agen, one from Bordeaux to Jerusalem crossed the River Ciron at two different points, the first station Serione the territory of the current commune of Cerons, the second much more in inland towards Pujols Bazas. It was Mutatio Sirmione, after the second station on the road to Bordeaux Bazas.
On or near the ford at the site of the castle La Salle, there must have old buildings, Celtic or Roman but so far no excavation has been completed, or no text has to prove .
