Situated on the edge of La Rochelle, Puilboreau is a town in Charente-Maritime that takes place in New Aquitaine. Recently, the city was born in 1858 from the merger of Dompierre and Lagord.
The territory is, however, as the town since at least the twelfth century. Its activity was mainly peaceful, offering wines processed in La Rochelle, or water spirits who enjoyed a certain notoriety at the time of Philip Augustus. It was during the nineteenth century, following vine diseases that Puilboreau then turned to wheat farming and ranching.
The nearby La Rochelle with Puilboreau earned him some notoriety tourism, becoming a tasteful base for visitors passing through the region. A modest architectural heritage forever captivating.
