Poule-les-Écharmeaux

While strolling in the village, you will be able to appreciate the charm of the church and the priory Clunisien, before going to admire the various castles present on the territory. You will discover in particular the exteriors of the castle of La Combe, the castle of Fougères from the 16th century or the castle of La Ronze renovated at the end of the 19th century.

But it is mainly for its natural heritage that the village of Poule-les-Écharmeaux is appreciated by visitors. Marked hiking trails, the GR 7 trail, accessible on foot, by bike or on horseback, allow you to admire the nearby wetland, or to explore the roche d'Ajoux and the Col des Écharmeaux. The latter hosts a statue of Napoleon Bonaparte on its summit. Note that the town is also traversed by one of the contemporary paths of the pilgrimage to Saint-Jacques de Compostelle.

The local producers' market at Col des Écharmeaux is held every Friday at the end of the afternoon. A garage sale is organized in September. A Christmas market with entertainment is also offered at the end of the year.

Every year in mid-February, the town celebrates the Sainte-Barbe des sapeurs-pompiers.

Concerts are organized in June on the occasion of the Fête de la Musique.

In June, a hike is organized for the benefit of the association Vaincre la Mucoviscidose.

On July 14, it's time for fireworks and the popular ball.

Sainte-Cécile is celebrated every year in November.
