Bourg du Rhône, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Pomeys is located on the edge of the Loire department, not far from Saint-Symphorien-sur-Coise, Grézieu-le-Marché and La Chapelle-sur-Coise.
According to local history, the commune of Pomeys, formerly known as Saint-Martin-de-Pomeys, was born from the passage of the apostle of the French countryside, Saint Martin. He would have stopped at the inexhaustible fountain installed on site and would have left the mark of his stick there.
In all cases of ancient origin, the city continues to attract visitors today thanks to an architectural heritage testifying to a rich and fascinating history.
