Municipality of the Rhône, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Pollionnay takes place about fifteen kilometers from Lyon, at the edge of the Lyonnais mountains. It is also located not far from Vaugneray, Saint-Pierre-la-Palud and Saint-Genis-les-Ollières.
Known since Gallo-Roman Antiquity, the commune of Pollionnay was in the Middle Ages the property of the counts of Lyon. Today still as attractive and dynamic, the city seduces as much by its archaeological remains as by its natural landscapes suitable for long walks with the family and lonely strolls.
