Plouaret

The Breton city of Plouaret has several classified sites or listed historical monuments to discover passing through the region. You will appreciate in particular the chapel Sainte-Barbe of the XVIth century, the manor of Kérépol of the same time, or the manor of Kerbridou.

You will discover the fountain Saint-Jean, of the eighteenth century, inscribed for its statue sculpted by Yves Hernot and restored in 2003. Not far from there, the manor of Guernachanay presents a portico of entry inscribed with the Historical Monuments as well as a very beautiful dovecote.

As you stroll through the old center, do not miss the 17th century church square house, it was inscribed for its facade and roof.

Plouaret also has an extensive network of hiking trails that will allow you to enjoy the local fauna and flora, as well as the rich architectural heritage.

The market is held every Tuesday morning. The town also offers a Christmas market with entertainment in December. Throughout the year, visits to Notre-Dame Church are offered on Tuesday mornings. In summer, it is possible to climb into the bell tower.

A St. John's Day party is held each Friday closest to June 24 with musical entertainment and fires.

Every second weekend of July, Plouaret offers its patronal feast with animations.

St. Matthew's Day is held every year on the third weekend of September.

In July and August, the town offers night hikes on Wednesday evenings.
