Opened in 1970, the Museum of the Order of Liberation takes place in the hotel des Invalides, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. Completely renovated in the course of the year 2010, it reopened its doors to the public in 2015 on the occasion of the anniversary of the appeal of June 18th.
Accessible via the metro stations Invalides, Varenne and La Tour-Maubourg, it is entirely dedicated to the order of the Liberation and the Companions of the Liberation. Inside, there are three distinct spaces, Free France, Resistance and Deportation. A hall of honor is also dedicated to the founder and grand master of the Order of the Liberation, General de Gaulle.
The permanent exhibition unveils more than 2,000 documents and objects of exceptional rarity, like Jean Moulin and Marshal Leclerc's outfits, the first French Free Navy flags, or original drawings made in the camps. of concentration.
