Ousse hydronym is a pre-Latin, named after the river that runs through it. Have Suzan, Ace High, or South, as opposed to Arjuzanx. Evidence for the Late Neolithic, axes, are present and the ceramic decorations and cords pelletizing Middle Bronze. It is interesting also found remains of metallurgical activity bronzière (mold, nodules). In the Middle Ages, Ousse was part of the Jurade Villenave while Susan was attached to the IGOS in Brassenx. A fortified mound, according to age, was the seat of a small estate. There were several mills located on Bez and Suzan: Suzan's mill was leased by Jean de Serres adviser in 1657, the mill Cassouat that of Parantiz. The fair of Saint Michel (September 29) each year attracts thousands of people. Since time immemorial, servants, farmhands, nurses were there to find a master. Shepherds renewed their cowbells, esquirres. After the meeting of two communes in 1848, the moors, then frequented by large flocks of sheep, were planted in pines. Economic activity is based on agriculture and forest exploitation.
