Le Controis-en-Sologne

While strolling in the old town of Contres, do not miss going to admire the Saint-Cyr-et-Sainte-Julitte church built by Jules de La Morandière, local architect, with a three-sided apse, a vaulted ceiling. Inside, it is possible to discover a sculpted stone swimming pool from the 16th century as well as a stone baptismal font from the 17th century. The church also has a painting of the Virgin and Child from the 17th century listed in the Historic Monuments.

Before leaving Le Controis-en-Sologne, be sure to visit the 13th century Notre-Dame de Thenay church to discover a magnificent 14th century triptych.
